Ik vind het nog een reden om definitief te kappen met Chrome en gewoon over te stappen op Firefox. De default bij Firefox is: Wij hebben net zo’n pesthekel aan die notificaties bij sites als jullie, dus we blokkeren ze standaard. Wil je het anders, dan moet je het aangeven. Maar anders krijg je dus geen notificaties meer te zien. Handig!

Het artikel One Nation, Tracked van de New York Times is inmiddels wijd verspreid en besproken. Hun onderzoek naar het misbruik van locatiedata en hoe niet anoniem het is, eigenlijk is het geen verrassing meer.
Ik vraag me nu het volgende af, ik heb binnenkort een nieuwe telefoon. Als ik daar nu vanaf dag 1 locatiedata beperk en heel goed oplet wat ik waar wanneer deel, zou me dat iets minder volgbaar maken voor adverteerders, organisaties en overheden?
