Ricky Kees, manager of a block of Memphis flats, was sentenced to nearly a year in jail for shooting a tenant’s alarm clock with a .22-calibre revolver while he was drunk. State prosecutor Greg Gilluly – who said the bullets ruined the clock’s snooze button – later quipped that it was one way of killing time.
