Gisterenavond met Cor Fijneman en Huge een discussie hoe CDDB werkt, de online database die je CD herkent als je hem in je CD-speler van de PC stopt. Het antwoord: “The CDDB uses a CD’s table of contents — the CD’s list of tracks with their associated times. A CD’s table of contents acts as a somewhat reliable disk ID. I say “somewhat” because it’s conceivable, although rare, for two CDs to have the same number of tracks and times associated to those tracks.” Dus Correkes had (weer) gelijk… Een nieuwe feature van CDDB is dat je een lege CD in je recorder doet en zij dan herkennen welke tracks je erop kunt schrijven (nee echt!)
